This scene is of Eagle Creek in the Columbia River Gorge about a half hour east of Portland. It’s. a beloved place to hike and has many spectacular waterfalls. It was devastated by a wildfire several years ago and this painting really tries to capture the rebirth of that area. The scene was taken from a photo I took on a hike three or four years after the wildfire and you can see the area coming back to life.
